WHAT IT IS
MY UNDERSTANDING OF CONTEMPORARY ART

This picture
was taken last saturday during our History of New Media class
using my 3.2mp Sony Ericsson K770i phone camera.
The task was to go out for 5 minutes
and find something related to contemporary art.
This was what i found.
Subject: Street Lamp
Category: Expressionism and Photo realism
Title: Numb
Contemporary art to my own understanding
is all about expressing what u have in mind and presenting it in any means using any of the element of design.
The title " NUMB " i pick was to express what i feel about the life of us humans
in today's world. We work and get busy till we forget about nature and the purpose of living.
The subject symbolizes a human,
putting himself at work the entire life, but forgetting nature ( the tree and sky ) and the beauty of human creation itself ( the building ).
Angle of this composition was
to create distance between the main subject and the background.
The depth of field can't be revealed because of my camera phone which focuses automatically and made the picture flat and not focusing the main subject.
